Gordie is the consummate songwriter, with songs recorded by the likes of Dierks Bentley, Eric Paslay, Cassadee Pope, Rascal Flatts, Miranda Lambert, Bon Jovi, Miley Cyrus, Billy Curringon, Carrie Underwood and practically the entire cast of the TV show Nashville. His song Jesus Take The Wheel won many awards, including the Grammy for Country Song of the Year in 2007.
